Which to choose

Tawaraya or Hiiragiya?

Tawaraya and Hiiragiya are neighbours on Fuyacho in central Kyoto, each kept by one family for generations. Tawaraya, Kyoto's oldest standing inn, serves its kaiseki in the room and is strict about arrival times and diets; Hiiragiya, founded in 1818, is more flexible, with vegetarian meals, plans without dinner and two family baths to reserve.
