Which to choose
Hoshinoya Kyoto or Hoshinoya Tokyo?
Both are Hoshino Resorts ryokan, but they could hardly be set further apart. Hoshinoya Kyoto is on the Oi river in the Arashiyama gorge, reached by the hotel's own boat, with no hot spring or shared bath; Hoshinoya Tokyo is a seventeen-floor tower in Otemachi, a short walk from Tokyo station, with a hot-spring bath on its top floor.
