Which to choose
Hoshinoya Okinawa or Hoshinoya Taketomi Island?
Two Hoshinoya resorts in Okinawa, on very different islands. Hoshinoya Okinawa is a low-rise resort on a kilometre of natural coast at Yomitan on the main island, with a warm pool open day and night; Hoshinoya Taketomi Island is a village of red-tiled villas on a small island ten minutes by ferry from Ishigaki.

Q&A
Not at either; dinner is booked separately. At both, same-day cancellation of meals is charged in full.
Late ferries to Taketomi are often cancelled in wind or swell, so guests are asked to take a ferry from Ishigaki by 17:00. Both resorts apply special typhoon terms to direct bookings from the end of May to the start of December.
