This Privacy Policy describes how Late Checkout (“Late Checkout,” “we,” “us” or “our”) collects, uses, discloses and protects personal information when you visit latecheckout.travel (the “Site”), contact us, or use our advisory, reservation, itinerary review, membership and residence introduction services (the “Services”).
Reservations are made through our host agency, Fora Travel, Inc. (“Fora”). When you use Fora’s booking portal, Fora collects and processes your information as an independent controller under its own privacy policy. Suppliers with whom reservations are made do likewise under theirs.
Information you provide. When you submit an enquiry, apply for membership or partnership, purchase a Service, book a call or correspond with us, we collect the information you choose to give, which may include your name, email address, telephone number, company, travel dates and destinations, the composition of your party, budget, accommodation preferences, dietary and accessibility requirements, special occasions, the content of any itinerary or document you submit, and the content of your messages.
Information collected automatically. When you visit the Site we and our analytics provider collect technical and usage information, including IP address, approximate location, browser and device type, operating system, referring website, pages viewed, and the dates, times and duration of visits. Your browser also retains a record of the page and referrer through which you first arrived, which is transmitted to us only if you submit an enquiry.
Information from third parties. We may receive information about you from Fora, from Suppliers in connection with a reservation, from a payment processor confirming that a payment has been made, and from a scheduling service when you book a call. We do not receive or store payment card numbers.

Where the law requires a legal basis, we rely on the performance of a contract with you or steps taken at your request before entering into one; our legitimate interests in operating, securing and improving the Site and the Services and in conducting our business; compliance with legal obligations; and, where required, your consent, which you may withdraw at any time.
Other than the introductions you ask for, described in Section 4, we do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for third-party advertising. We do not currently send marketing communications; should we introduce them, we will do so only with your consent and with the means to opt out.

We operate internationally, and the Suppliers and service providers we use are located in a number of countries, including the United States and Japan. Personal information may therefore be transferred to, stored and processed in countries other than your own, whose data protection laws may differ. Where required, we take steps intended to ensure that such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards.
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, including for the duration of our relationship with you and for a reasonable period thereafter to maintain records of our advice and arrangements, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements, and for such longer period as may be required by tax, accounting or other applicable law. Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement are retained for a limited period and then deleted. Material submitted for an itinerary review is retained with the record of that review.
The Site uses Google Analytics to understand how visitors use it. Google Analytics sets cookies that assign a random identifier to your browser and collect the usage information described in Section 2. This information is not associated with your name or your enquiry. Google processes it under its own privacy policy. You can decline analytics cookies through your browser settings or Google’s opt-out browser add-on; the Site functions fully without them.
The Site stores a small record in your browser’s local storage noting how you first arrived, as described in Section 2. It is not a cookie, is not shared with any third party, and leaves your browser only within an enquiry you choose to submit. Third-party services you reach from the Site, including booking, payment and scheduling services, set their own cookies on their own pages.
We maintain administrative, technical and organisational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorised access, loss, misuse or alteration, including encryption of data in transit and restricted access to stored enquiries. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. Where we become aware of a breach affecting your personal information, we will notify you and any relevant authority as the law requires.
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to the personal information we hold about you; to have it corrected or deleted; to restrict or object to its processing; to receive it in a portable format; and to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent. You may also have the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection authority.
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the period required by applicable law. Certain information may be retained where the law requires or permits it, and we will tell you if that is the case.
The Site and the Services are intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under eighteen, other than information about minors in a travelling party provided by a parent or guardian for the purpose of a reservation. If you believe a minor has provided information to us directly, please contact us and we will delete it.
We may update this Policy from time to time. The revised version will be posted on this page with a new date, and, where a change materially affects how we use information already collected, we will take reasonable steps to notify you. Your continued use of the Site or the Services after a revision constitutes acceptance of it.
