Osawayama Onsen, Minamiuonuma里山十帖

Satoyama Jujo

Satoyama Jujo is a ryokan of thirteen rooms and a villa at Osawayama Onsen above Minamiuonuma in Niigata's snow country, opened in 2014 by the publisher of the magazine Jiyujin in a renovated former hot-spring inn and a farmhouse of about 150 years. Rooms are furnished with Danish and Japanese designer pieces and contemporary art, most with a hot-spring bath facing Mount Makihata or the forest, and dinner is a vegetable-led course of the region's preserved foods.
