Awara Onsen光風湯圃べにや
Kofuyuden Beniya
A ryokan of 17 rooms in the onsen town of Awara in northern Fukui, founded in 1884 and rebuilt by architect Tetsuo Kobori after the old inn, a registered tangible cultural property, burned in 2018. Every room has a different plan, a small courtyard and its own partly open-air bath of free-flowing spring water, and dinner and breakfast are served in the room.

Tell us your dates and our team in Japan books it for you, at the inn’s own rate. We ask for the room we would choose and look after everything else with the inn on your behalf: your preferences and requests, any special arrangement, from a celebration to a car from the station, and whatever you need before and during your stay. The price and cancellation terms are confirmed with you first.
Guests with tattoos, including body paint, may not use the large baths; every room has its own spring-water bath.
Komatsu Airport: bus to Komatsu station (about 15 minutes), then JR to Ashiharaonsen (about 20 minutes by limited express), where the inn's shuttle meets guests.
