Sanso Murata
Sanso Murata is a ryokan of twelve detached houses in the woods of Yufuin, Oita, most of them old farmhouses moved here and rebuilt, each with its own hot-spring bath. Opened as a tea house in 1983 and as an inn in 1992, it mixes old and new, Japanese and Western pieces, and runs a bar, a museum of sound, a chocolatier and a soba house on the same grounds.
