Lake Kinrin, Yufuin Onsen亀の井別荘

Kamenoi Bessou

Kamenoi Bessou is a ryokan on the shore of Lake Kinrin at the foot of Mount Yufu, where eleven detached cottages and a small main building of six Western rooms stand in about 3.3 hectares of old trees and mossy garden. It began in 1921 as the villa of Kumahachi Aburaya, the man who built up Beppu as a resort, and is counted among the three great inns of Yufuin; its grounds also hold a thatched restaurant, a café and bar in a moved late-Edo sake brewery, and a shop, Kagiya.
