Myoken Onsen, Makizono, Kirishima忘れの里 雅叙苑
Wasure no Sato Gajoen
Wasure no Sato Gajoen is an eight-room ryokan founded in 1970 at Myoken Onsen in Kirishima, Kagoshima. It is made of thatched farmhouses moved to a quiet bank of the Amori River and laid out like a hamlet. Its room Kaze, of 1978, is the first guest room in Japan with its own open-air hot-spring bath, as the inn and the MICHELIN Guide both say; every room now has a hot-spring bath, and meals are Satsuma country dishes from the inn's own farm.
