Tenku no Mori
Tenku no Mori is a villa retreat on a hilltop in Kirishima, Kagoshima, where Tateo Tajima, owner of the Gajoen inn at Myoken Onsen, has cleared bamboo hills since 1994; three overnight villas and two day villas stand far apart on 60 hectares, each with its own open-air hot-spring bath. Its theme is privacy and the land: meals come from its own terraced fields, and guests are told they may go about the villa unclothed.
