Sankara Hotel & Spa Yakushima is a 29-room resort of suites and villas in a forest garden on a hillside at Mugio on the south-east coast of Yakushima, the World Heritage island south of Kyushu. It runs as an auberge-style hotel with French cooking, a spa and an infinity pool facing the sea.

Closed from 12 January to 18 February 2027 for maintenance and the refurbishment of the restaurants and lounge; the Sankara Suite stays closed for renovation until 31 March 2027.
