Naoshima, five minutes' walk from Honmura直島旅館 ろ霞
Naoshima Ryokan Roka
Naoshima Ryokan Roka is an eleven-suite ryokan opened in April 2022 on Naoshima, the Seto Inland Sea island of the Benesse Art Site, on former rice terraces in the hills five minutes' walk from the Art House Project in Honmura. Every suite has tatami, futon beds and its own open-air bath, and the inn works as a gallery, with Kohei Nawa's white sculpture Ether#80 in the garden and a featured young Japanese artist, chosen under the art producer Shigeo Goto, hanging new work in all eleven rooms every six months.

Naoshima Ryokan Roka releases its rooms on set dates, months ahead. Tell us your dates and our team in Japan books it for you, at the inn’s own rate. We ask for the room we would choose and look after everything else with the inn on your behalf: your preferences and requests, any special arrangement, from a celebration to a car from the station, and whatever you need before and during your stay. The price and cancellation terms are confirmed with you first.
Okayama Airport (limousine bus about 30 minutes to Okayama station, the JR Uno Line about 50 minutes to Uno, then the ferry) or Takamatsu Airport (limousine bus about 40 minutes to JR Takamatsu station, a five-minute walk to the port, then the ferry); both ferries land at Miyanoura, where the inn's shuttle meets guests.
