Asama Onsen, Matsumoto松本十帖
Matsumoto Jujo
Two hotels made from Koyanagi, an inn recorded from 1686, at the crossing of Yuzaka and Yamanote-dori in Asama Onsen, a hot-spring town on the north-east edge of Matsumoto with views to the Northern Alps from the upper floors. Matsumoto Honbako is a book hotel stripped back to the old inn's bare concrete by Suppose Design Office, above a bookshop of about 10,000 titles; Koyanagi is a new, softer hotel for families in diatomaceous earth and solid wood with Danish furniture, and every room in both has its own open-air hot-spring bath.
