Kyu-Karuizawa万平ホテル
Mampei Hotel
A classic resort hotel in Sakuranosawa, old Karuizawa, which began as the Kameya Inn on the Nakasendo in 1764, became a Western-style hotel in 1894 and moved to its present site in 1902. Its Alps Wing of 1936, by Kume Gonkuro, is a registered tangible cultural property, and the later Atago and Usui wings stand around a wooded courtyard.
