A six-suite hotel in the former consulate of Imperial Russia, a 1908 red-brick building at the top of Saiwaizaka on the slopes of Mount Hakodate, looking over Hakodate harbour. Two suites are in the old consulate, with its dark-wood staircase, marble entrance hall and ornate ceilings, and four in a new wellness wing designed by Makoto Nakayama, each suite with its own sauna.
