Shuzenji, Izu柳生の庄
Yagyu-no-Sho
Yagyu-no-Sho is a fifteen-room ryokan of sukiya-style buildings in a bamboo grove on the edge of Shuzenji Onsen, the oldest hot-spring town in Izu. It grew out of Yagyu, a ryotei opened in Shirokane, Tokyo, in 1959 by a kendo-loving owner, which is why the inn has its own kendo hall; every room is laid out differently, has a hot-spring bath and is served kaiseki in the room.
