Senbon Matsubara, Sembongorin, Numazu沼津倶楽部
Numazu Club
Numazu Club is an eight-room house on a 3,000-tsubo site in the Senbon Matsubara pine grove in Numazu, between Mt Fuji and Suruga Bay, built around Shogantei, the sukiya-style tea house that Zenbei Miwa, second president of Mitsuwa Soap, had built in 1913. The tea house, now its modern Chinese restaurant, and the thatched Nagaya gate are Registered Tangible Cultural Properties; the guests sleep in a 2008 wing by Akira Watanabe, whose rooms all look over a reflecting pool fed by Mt Fuji groundwater and the pines.

Numazu Club takes some bookings only by telephone. Tell us your dates and our team in Japan books it for you, at the hotel’s own rate. We ask for the room we would choose and look after everything else with the hotel on your behalf: your preferences and requests, any special arrangement, from a celebration to a car from the station, and whatever you need before and during your stay. The price and cancellation terms are confirmed with you first.
From Tokyo, take the Tokaido shinkansen to Mishima station, then about 20 minutes by taxi.
