Uchisaiwaicho, Hibiya, Tokyo帝国ホテル 東京

Imperial Hotel, Tokyo

The Imperial Hotel, Tokyo opened in 1890 as Japan's state guest house and now occupies a 17-storey Main Building of 1970 and a 31-storey Tower of 1983 facing Hibiya Park, succeeding Frank Lloyd Wright's building of 1923. It has 909 rooms, with the Imperial Floors (14th–16th) of the Main Building as its premier floors, and Les Saisons, a one-star French restaurant.

Construction on the neighbouring TOKYO CROSS PARK redevelopment can be heard in parts of the hotel by day and night; the Tower Building stays in full use, rooms included, until its demolition begins around the end of fiscal 2030 (March 2031).
