A hotel brand in Japan

Fufu

Fufu is the resort brand of Kato Pleasure Group, a Tokyo company founded in 1962 that also runs the Tsurutontan udon restaurants.

The first Fufu opened in Atami in 2007, and the idea has held since: a small house of suites, each with its own hot-spring bath, where you eat in the restaurant rather than in your room.

Yes, at all ten on our list. The bath is open-air at Fufu Atami, Fufu Kawaguchiko and Fufu Nara, and indoor at Fufu Kyoto, Fufu Kyu-Karuizawa and Fufu Jogashima.

Only some: Fufu Atami, Fufu Hakone, Fufu Kawaguchiko and Fufu Nikko have large shared baths. Fufu Kyoto, Fufu Nara, Fufu Tokyo Ginza, Fufu Jogashima and both Karuizawa houses have none, though Fufu Nara has a private bath to hire.

Yes; every house on our list takes children, with a set rate for those aged 12 and under. Teppanyaki dinners at Fufu Atami, Fufu Hakone, Fufu Kyu-Karuizawa and Fufu Nikko are for children aged ten and over.
