Anantara Chiang Mai Resort
A riverside resort of 52 rooms and 34 suites on Charoen Prathet Road on the Mae Ping in Chiang Mai, built around the century-old former British Consulate, now the 1921 House, with a separate block of 25 serviced suites across the road. Kerry Hill designed it as The Chedi in open-plan modern tropical style with Lanna touches; its rebrand to Anantara was announced in 2013.

Anantara Chiang Mai Resort opened in 2005. It was last renovated in 2022: all 84 rooms and suites; the Brit Bar and The Service 1921 reworked; Bubbles rooftop bar and Bodhi Terrace added; Thai medical clinic and IV drip bar at the spa.
Opened as The Chedi Chiang Mai, designed by Kerry Hill, who also renovated the former British Consulate at its heart; Minor Hotels took over its management, and the rebrand to Anantara was announced in November 2013. A 2022 refurbishment redid all 84 rooms and suites in the same modern tropical style with teak finishes, reworked the Brit Bar and added the Bubbles rooftop bar.
