Waldorf Astoria is coming to Malaysia. Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur is now taking reservations ahead of an opening in late 2026, at 73 Jalan Raja Chulan in the Golden Triangle, a short walk from Bukit Bintang, Pavilion Kuala Lumpur and the Petronas Twin Towers.
The hotel is all suites: 268 of them, from one-bedroom suites of 80 square metres to the 745 square metre Waldorf Astoria Suite, with floor-to-ceiling views of the skyline. Hilton describes them as designed for both short and extended stays, which makes this one to watch for anyone spending months rather than nights in the city.
Dining is the headline. Jean-Georges Vongerichten will open JG KL, and Garima Arora, of Gaa in Bangkok, is also attached to the project. A Waldorf Astoria Spa, a wellness centre, an outdoor pool and a set of event spaces complete the building. Service is framed around what the hotel calls Layan Tetamu, a Malaysian idea of hospitality.
“Now open for reservations, Waldorf Astoria Kuala Lumpur marks the reawakening of a truly iconic address, reimagined for a new generation of discerning travellers. We look forward to welcoming our first guests as the hotel begins to come to life,” said Etienne Dalançon, general manager.
An opening offer, the Waldorf Astoria Indulgence Escape, includes breakfast and 15,000 Hilton Honors points on stays of two nights or more. Late Checkout will follow up with more as the opening date is confirmed.
