Four Seasons opens its Red Sea resort on Shura Island

Four Seasons Resort and Residences Red Sea welcomed its first guests from 20 May 2026 on Shura Island, on Saudi Arabia's Red Sea coast. Red Sea Global announced the opening; it developed the resort in a 50-50 joint venture with Kingdom Holding Company, and it is the first jointly developed property in Red Sea Global's portfolio to begin operating.

The resort and its residences

The resort has 149 guest rooms and suites and 31 Resort Residences. Four Seasons says the residences open straight onto the landscape, and that the rooms and suites are all on a single storey. The resort sits on the quiet eastern tip of the island, along 1.3 km of shoreline, with three pools, one of them for adults only, and six restaurants and bars whose menus run from Levantine to plant-forward and Mediterranean cooking.

Red Sea Global put the cost at SAR2.6bn ($693m), of which SAR2bn is debt financing from Riyad Bank. Four Seasons describes the resort as LEED Platinum-certified, on an island that runs entirely on renewable energy.

The Four Seasons Private Residences Red Sea at Shura Island are listed as 75 villas of three to five bedrooms, 43 Dune Villas and 32 Waterside Villas, of 414 to 534 sq m, set between the resort and the Shura Links golf course. Architecture is by Foster + Partners and interiors by Goddard Littlefair. Prices started from about SAR27m (2025). Owners can call on a Four Seasons residences team for housekeeping, private chefs, childcare and care of the house while they are away.

The island

Shura Island is about 25 minutes by car from Red Sea International Airport. Eleven hotels are planned there; The Red Sea EDITION, SLS The Red Sea and InterContinental The Red Sea Resort were already open when Four Seasons arrived.

Four Seasons has other residences along the same coast: the Four Seasons Private Residences AMAALA at Triple Bay, further north, and the Four Seasons Private Residences Jeddah at the Corniche, due in 2027.

For a buyer, the resort beside the villas is now operating, so owners have the restaurants, pools and staff of a full Four Seasons hotel on their doorstep.
