Aman opened Amanvari, its first resort in Mexico, on 1 August 2026. The resort sits within Costa Palmas on Baja California's East Cape, and Aman's own page for it now reads "Now open". Alongside the hotel, Aman Residences, Amanvari are offered for private ownership, which Markets of Tomorrow describes as a first for the brand in the region.
Amanvari is small: 18 casitas, some set along the estuary and some directly on the sand. Each is roughly 833 sq ft, with a private heated pool, an outdoor shower and a terrace. The design is by Heah & Co., carried out by Elastic Architects.
There are three restaurants: Arva, which is Italian; Sesui, a 10-seat Japanese omakase counter; and Luma, for Mexican seafood and open-fire cooking. The Aman Spa has a temazcal, two Hydro Houses with a banya and a hammam, and six treatment rooms. Rates start at $3,000 a night (2026).
The residences are beachfront villas of four to seven bedrooms, with a first phase announced as 25 villas and about 13,000 to 20,000 sq ft of covered indoor and outdoor space each. Owners have full use of the resort's wellness and dining, and of the residents-only Aman Private Office for personal service and itineraries.
Guests and owners have the run of the 1,500-acre Costa Palmas community, which includes 18 acres of organic orchards and farms and three miles of swimmable shoreline. The same estate is home to Four Seasons Private Residences Los Cabos at Costa Palmas. San José del Cabo International Airport is 45 to 60 minutes away by car, or about 15 minutes by helicopter.
Elsewhere in the Americas, Aman's residences include Amanyara in Turks and Caicos, Amanera in the Dominican Republic and Amangiri in Utah.
The resort is open and trading, so a buyer looking at the villas can now stay at the hotel and judge the service and the setting at first hand, rather than from plans and renderings.
