Iyonada Monogatari
The Iyonada Monogatari is JR Shikoku's three-car Green-class sightseeing train along the Iyo Sea coast of Ehime between Matsuyama, Ozu and Yawatahama, running four short services a day on its running days, each with a meal from a local kitchen.
Its third car is a private suite for up to eight, and people along the line come out to wave the train past.

The special cars
Fiore Suite (car 3, Haruka no Sho)

A private compartment behind a noren hand-dyed by Wakamatsu Hata-ten of Yawatahama, four two-person sofas facing the sea, cherry-wood walls, its own attendant, a welcome drink and cocktails, sake and wine served only in the suite; not for one guest alone.
Green seats (car 1, Akane no Sho)
Sunset-red car with several seat types, boxes for up to four among them, and a large glass door to the driver's cab for the view ahead.
Group seat (car 1, seats 13 and 14)

From 2 October 2026, ¥9,000 a table on top of fares and limited express charges.

Gold car with pair seats facing the sea and Western-style chairs and tables.

Each of the four runs has its own meal from an Ehime kitchen, ordered ahead: a seasonal breakfast by Yoyo Kitchen! of Matsuyama (¥3,500), a Japanese-Western box in Uchiko cedar by Restaurant Karari of Uchiko (¥6,000), a short French course by Restaurant Kadota of Matsuyama (¥6,000), and an afternoon tea box by Petit Paris of Matsuyama (¥3,500); menus change every two months. Drinks, sweets and goods are sold on board.

Good to know
No outside food or alcohol (water and tea excepted); no pets; allergens cannot be removed from the meals. Only Fiore Suite guests may enter car 3.

About the train
Concept and design by JR Shikoku staff with roots along the line; the present train is the second Iyonada Monogatari, its car 3 rebuilt as the Fiore Suite under the concept 'time and space spent with someone dear'.
Run by JR Shikoku, since 2014.
