The Warehouse Hotel
A 37-room hotel in three 1895 godowns with peaked roofs and shuttered windows on the Singapore River at Robertson Quay, built for the shipping firm Wee Bin & Co. on the stretch once known in Hokkien as Chiu Long Lo, Spirits Shed Street. It opened in January 2017 and keeps the double-height spaces, pitched roofs and trusses of the old warehouses.

The River View Loft and River View Mezzanine are on the top floor with high ceilings and a view of the river; avoid the Warehouse Sanctuary if you want daylight, as it is a windowless ground-floor room. Every room has one king-size bed and there are no extra beds, so families book two rooms.

Built in 1895 by Lim Ho Puah of Wee Bin & Co., the three godowns stood empty for decades before Zarch Collaboratives (architect) and Asylum (interiors and branding) restored them, keeping the industrial shell and adding modern finishes; the project won Design of the Year at the 2018 President's Design Award.
