Mameya

Mameya is a one-party villa made from two of ten Edo-to-Taisho-era buildings of Odagaki Shoten, a black-soybean merchant founded in 1734, on its home premises in the castle town of Tamba-Sasayama, Hyogo. It has a Western-style lounge, a tatami living room with a Hiroshi Sugimoto work and earthen walls of Tachikui clay, and an upstairs bedroom under the old beams, all looking over a stone garden with a Jomon-period stone pillar at the centre of its stone circle.
