Amanyangyun
An Aman in a replanted camphor forest on the south-western edge of Shanghai, built around Ming and Qing dynasty houses moved 700 km from Fuzhou in Jiangxi province and reassembled stone by stone. A walled village of 24 courtyard suites and pavilions and 11 four-bedroom Antique Villas, laid out by Kerry Hill Architects around an 80-tonne King Camphor Tree.

Amanyangyun opened in 2018.
When a reservoir threatened villages near Fuzhou in Jiangxi in 2002, Fuzhou-born entrepreneur Ma Dadong had 10,000 camphor trees and some 50 Ming and Qing houses dismantled and trucked 700 km to Shanghai; Aman joined the restoration in 2009. Kerry Hill Architects (Kerry Hill, design director) planned the walled courtyard village and designed the interiors, restoring the old houses into 26 dwellings; landscape by Dan Pearson. Opened on 8 January 2018 after 15 years of work.
